Amgen in Puerto Rico, Juncos, is seeking an Engineer AML 7 for Process Engineering on the Night Shift to support non-standard shifts and drive manufacturing efficiency.

You will optimize equipment performance, troubleshoot, and implement PM strategies while collaborating with Production, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to improve reliability. Fluency in English and Spanish is valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of Engineering/manufacturing support experience.
• Preferred: degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharma/biotech) is preferred.
• Proficiency in reliability engineering concepts (Root Cause Analysis, preventive maintenance).
• Strong organizational and technical writing skills; excellent English and Spanish communication.
• Experience with CMMS systems, preferably MAXIMO.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and reactive technical engineering support to maintain continuous operations.
• Optimize processes and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Own and manage equipment in CMMS including work orders and PM strategies.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D and Supply Chain to improve maintenance strategies.
• Analyze KPIs and use data-driven approaches to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

This role includes supporting non-standard shift manufacturing operations, including nights and weekends.* Apply engineering principles to solve moderate-scope challenges, optimize processes, and improve equipment performance.* Provide technical support for daily operations, including troubleshooting, maintenance strategy, and performance analysis.* Own and manage equipment in CMMS, including work orders, preventive maintenance (PM) strategies, and spare parts management.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain) to enhance maintenance strategies, reliability assessments, and manufacturing efficiency.* Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data-driven methodologies to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and reduce downtime.* Support non-standard shift manufacturing operations as needed, including nights and weekends.* Support automation solutions, digital tools, and emerging technologies to enhance process control and operational efficiency.* Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines.* Support manufacturing and quality systems, including deviations, equipment qualification, process validation, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) management.* ·Provide training and mentorship to operators, maintenance personnel, and team members on new processes, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.* Support cost-saving initiatives, assessing ROI for process and equipment improvements. ## **What we expect of you**We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
