Job summary

M.C. Dean, an engineering leader in security and electronic systems, seeks an Engineer 4 to join the SES unit. The role focuses on system programming, network infrastructure, and security solutions for federal, local, and commercial customers.

A SECRET clearance is required at the outset. Responsibilities include designing, installing, and maintaining high-performance computing and security systems, plus contributing to documentation and optimization efforts across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the specified fields with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Security+ certification required within 6 months.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Maintain system documentation and maintenance records; generate status reports.
• Stay current on industry trends and products (4–6 hours weekly).
• Perform staging and setup for project support and self-instruction.
• Install and configure networks based on an IDP to meet customer needs.
• Research equipment from multiple manufacturers to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Design Department to fix design problems.
• Suggest process improvements and cost savings for future installs.
• Support a large-scale HPC center: install/manage systems, peripherals, and interfaces.
• Provide designs for automation systems including materials lists.
• Create user guidelines for custom programs and applications.
• Work in a lab environment to learn IT and ESS systems.

We are seeking a Engineer 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

The Engineer provides system programming and management support for large scale networking infrastructures. The responsibilities include the administration and maintenance of high performance computer configurations as well as other systems and peripherals' participating in system integration projects, system performance analyses, problem resolution, and system security initiatives; works with senior staff in the development of system management tools; and works with other Company Departments to provide a comprehensive support infrastructure for a wide range of commercial, corporate, and governmental users.

• Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.
• Spending four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
• Performing staging and setup as needed for project support and for self-instruction.
• Working closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfy the customer's needs.
• Researching equipment from a multitude of manufactures to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
• Working closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
• Suggesting process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.
• Providing systems support for a large-scale, high performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; works with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals; additional duties include the development and maintenance of systems documentation.
• Provides designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
• Provide user guideline documentations and manuals for user end custom programs and applications.
• Works within a lab enviroment, learning different IT and ESS systems.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type:Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 7+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.
• Must obtain a Security+ within 6-months.

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
