Job summary

CIS International LLC in Juncos, PR is seeking an Engineer for a 6-month contract to support facilities, utilities, and HVAC systems in a regulated biopharma environment. The role centers on evaluating operational issues, applying engineering principles, and designing modifications to meet schedules and budgets.

You will collaborate with Facilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, EHS, and external partners to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility systems.

Qualifications

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, provides characterization of process optimization strategies and/or troubleshooting of operational issues in the operations, manufacturing, pilot plant or capital projects environment. Applies basic engineering principles to the design and implementation of system modifications, experiments and/or capital projects. Organizes, analyzes and presents interpretation of results for operational issues or engineering projects of minor scope and complexity.

• Under general supervision will evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures. Assistance given for unusual problems.

• Routinely audit the operational performance and regulatory compliance of a moderate number of equipment items or systems of significant complexity.
• Work with research, manufacturing, maintenance, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance and/or validation departments in developing requirements and recommendations for system modifications.
• Work under the direct supervision of project managers to complete design, engineering, and construction projects within schedule and budget constraints.
• Work with consultants, architects and engineering firms on development of standard design documents.
• Obtain and critique quotes for equipment modifications or installations. 4. Generate rudimentary project cost estimates and schedules.

EDUCATION:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Provides engineering support for the operation, troubleshooting, optimization, and modification of HVAC, utilities, and facility systems within a regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environment. Applies engineering principles to resolve operational issues, support preventive maintenance strategies, and execute facility modifications and capital projects.
• The Engineer works closely with Facilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, EHS, and external engineering and service providers to ensure facility systems operate safely, reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable GMP and regulatory requirements.
