Job summary

mîrus Consulting Group, a local Humacao, Puerto Rico firm, is seeking an experienced Engineer to provide engineering support for manufacturing and facilities operations within a regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environment.

The successful candidate will serve as a system owner, support maintenance and reliability initiatives, coordinate vendor activities, manage purchase orders, and ensure compliance with cGMP while supporting continuous operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in engineering.
• Experience as System Owner in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with MMP activities and cGMP procedures.
• Experience using Maximo or similar CMMS.
• Experience creating and processing Purchase Orders (POs).
• Experience coordinating vendors in regulated facilities.
• Strong project management and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

mîrus Consulting Group is a local company based in Humacao, Puerto Rico that provides computer system validation and information technology consulting services to pharmaceutical companies and other organizations across the Island and parts of the United States. Its services include the assessment and validation of automation equipment, network infrastructures and business processes, as well as the project management involved.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to provide engineering support for manufacturing and facilities operations within a regulated pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment. The successful candidate will serve as a system owner, support maintenance and reliability initiatives, coordinate vendor activities, manage purchase orders, and ensure compliance with cGMP requirements while supporting continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as System Owner for manufacturing and/or utility systems, ensuring reliability, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Support Maintenance Management Program (MMP) activities, including system oversight, documentation management, and performance monitoring.
• Apply engineering principles and cGMP requirements to support pharmaceutical/biotech production processes, facilities, and equipment.
• Utilize Maximo to manage asset information, maintenance activities, work orders, and system documentation.
• Create, process, and track Purchase Orders (POs) to support engineering and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate, escort, and oversee vendors and contractors performing work within manufacturing and facility areas.
• Support troubleshooting, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Validation, and Supply Chain to achieve operational objectives.
• Provide engineering support during off-hours as needed to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and two (2) years of engineering experience.
• Experience as a System Owner in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Maintenance Management Program (MMP) activities.
• Working knowledge of cGMP procedures and engineering practices related to pharmaceutical or biotechnology operations.
• Experience using Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience creating, managing, and processing Purchase Orders (POs).
• Experience coordinating and escorting vendors and contractors within regulated facilities.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
