Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an Engineer II to provide technical expertise under supervision, handling more complex problems with growing independence. The role emphasizes accuracy in reports, calculations, and documentation while contributing to continuous improvement and professional growth.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of practice, a bachelor’s in an ABET/EAC-accredited program (or equivalent), and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program or equivalent evaluation by NCEES.
  • 2 to 4 years’ engineering experience with fundamental engineering theories and principles.
  • Ability to research engineering issues, evaluate options, and present recommendations.
  • Effective written and oral communication across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering/technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
  • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
  • Produce thorough technical reports, calculations, and sketches.

Job description

Position Overview

This is the second level of the Engineering classification. Provide engineering/technical expertise to solve more complex problems in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under some direct supervision, in the area of expertise will provide:

  • engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
  • effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
  • thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
  • continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • accurate records and files
  • support of the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering ProgramORan approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEESORgraduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience as a practicing engineer
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
  • Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
