Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an Engineer 2 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit.

You will be part of a team designing, integrating, operating and maintaining electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial clients, including intrusion detection, access control, biometrics, and video surveillance. Responsibilities include system programming, managing large networking infrastructures, and producing documentation and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain SECRET clearance.
  • Must obtain Security+ within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system programming and management support for large-scale networking infrastructures.
  • Administer and maintain high-performance computer configurations and related systems.
  • Develop system management tools with senior staff and support infrastructure for diverse users.
  • Maintain system documentation and generate status reports weekly or monthly.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks per IDP to meet customer needs.

We are seeking a Engineer 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

The Engineer provides system programming and management support for large scale networking infrastructures. The responsibilities include the administration and maintenance of high performance computer configurations as well as other systems and peripherals' participating in system integration projects, system performance analyses, problem resolution, and system security initiatives; works with senior staff in the development of system management tools; and works with other Company Departments to provide a comprehensive support infrastructure for a wide range of commercial, corporate, and governmental users.

* Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.

  • Spending four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
  • Performing staging and setup as needed for project support and for self-instruction.
  • Working closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfy the customer's needs.
  • Researching equipment from a multitude of manufactures to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
  • Working closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
  • Suggesting process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.
  • Providing systems support for a large-scale, high performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; works with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals; additional duties include the development and maintenance of systems documentation.
  • Provides designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
  • Provide user guideline documentations and manuals for user end custom programs and applications.
  • Works within a lab enviroment, learning different IT and ESS systems.
  • Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED Education/Certifications: * Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 2+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.
  • Must obtain a Security+ within 6-months.

  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
