Job summary

KBR, within its National Security Solutions team, seeks an Engineer to contribute to high-end engineering for AMRAAM missile flight tests. You will perform system performance evaluation from pre-launch through intercept and across subsystems, supporting critical national security missions.

You will analyze data, report anomalies, and travel up to 50% to support end users at DoD ranges and labs across the US and abroad.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Familiarity with Excel and Access Query building.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report overall system performance of AMRAAM flight tests, including planning and execution phases of flight and ground tests.
• Evaluate the system performance evaluation of the AMRAAM missile across all flight phases and subsystems: aircraft interface/data link, power, propulsion, INS, guidance, autopilot, radar/seeker, data processing, and fuzing.
• Write, report, and advise on hardware and software anomalies observed during flight test analysis for future development.
• Perform anomaly investigations and comparative analyses as required.
• Understand the application of computer tools and analysis aids necessary for full analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for analysis and reporting of overall system performance of Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) Flight Tests which also involves the planning and execution phases of flight and ground tests.
• Apply engineering knowledge and specialized technical training to the system performance evaluation of the AMRAAM missile to include all phases of flight from pre-launch to intercept and includes all subsystems of the missile: aircraft interface and data link, power, propulsion, inertial navigation system, guidance, autopilot, radar and seeker, automated data processing, and fuzing.
• Write, report, and advise on hardware and software anomalies observed during flight test analysis for use to highlight areas for future development.
• Perform anomaly investigations and comparative analysis, as required.
• Understand the application of computer tools and analysis aids necessary for full analysis and reporting.

Work Environment

• Location: 960 John Sims Parkway, Niceville, Florida
• Travel Requirements: This position will require travel of 25% with potential surge to 50% to support end users located at various DoD ranges & labs located across the US as well as some foreign travel.

Required Qualifications

• The ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
• Engineering degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
• Familiarity with Excel and Access Query building

Desired Qualifications

• Programming ability is highly desired (C/C++ and Matlab)
• Familiarity with Linux command line and scripting
• Aircraft Integration or Flight Test experience
