Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in the Irwin, PA area to design, develop and test mechanical systems and devices for ball valve manufacturing. The role involves leading a design team, performing integration of automation, and coordinating with sales, manufacturing and QA to solve production issues.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in mechanical engineering with at least four years of experience and can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design team in preparation of assembly and component drawings using PTC Creo.
• Maintain configurations, bills of materials, and ERP data.
• Resolve production issues with manufacturing and QA teams.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers and sales teams.
• Design, layout, testing, and evaluation of products with automation integration.
• Coordinate projects to maintain information flow between customers and departments.
• Participate in QA audits, Safety, and other committees.

Role Overview

IMI is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer, a Ball Valve Manufacturing Company based in the Irwin area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the success of our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design team in preparation of assembly and component drawings for sales orders, inquiries, and new product development using PTC Creo software
• Maintain configurations, bills of material, and component/assembly data in ERP software
• Work with assembly, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments to resolve production issues
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for customers, representatives, and our client's sales and marketing department
• Perform design, layout, testing, and evaluation of products, including integration of automation
• Serve as project coordinator on sales orders requiring ongoing technical guidance and oversight to maintain information flow between customer and departments within our client's organization (engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.)
• Participate in committees and project groups for activities (QA audits, Safety, ASME, CGA, etc.)

Critical Competencies for Success

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or other Engineering track
• Four or more years actual engineering work experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Skills

• 3D modeling experience (PTC Creo preferred)
• Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Office (Word, Excel, etc.

Pay range

$75,000 - $85,000

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
