Job summary

Job description

Location: Near Hobby Airport, must be within 30 minute drive, no remote work.

This position although following basic engineering skills will require in depth problem solving skills and will test the individuals skill set to daily move forward continually expanding their understanding of the industry and additionally working directly with the owner in product development.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer or closely related field from accredited university
• Excellent math skills – specifically in advanced geometry and stress analysis.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Familiarity in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MathCAD

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop protypes
• Source material for projects and purchase orders
• Provide estimations on products and projects
• Analyze bending, compressive, shear, tension and combined stresses for various applications
• Provide detailed drawings on below-the-hook lifting equipment and other related lifting equipment
• Provide detailed production drawings for the fabrication shop including bill of materials, cut list, weld call outs, and build plan.
• Be active liaison with shop lead to plan schedule and assure deadlines are met in a timely matter.
• Confirm quality on material and products that are brought in and shipped out
• Will be hands-on development with the owner, sales, engineers on projects and jobs from start to end.
