Job summary

ValorHospitality is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for PM shifts to keep hotel equipment in top condition and ensure guest comfort. The role emphasizes responding promptly to requests, performing routine upkeep, and handling boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.

You will conduct water sampling for boiler and cooling systems, manage logbooks, and assist with snow removal and special projects as needed. A high school diploma and two years in building maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction
• Ability to repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work

Responsibilities

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat water to maintain chemical levels.
• Operate equipment; maintain domestic hot/cold water systems and monitor electrical switch gears.
• Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance in engineering spaces and daily operations.
• Make rounds of the property to ensure systems are functioning.
• Complete maintenance requests, take readings, and log data for next shift.
• Respond to emergencies including fire alarms, power failures; notify authorities.

PM Shift.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIESRespond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESHigh school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.PHYSICAL DEMANDSLift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery.
