Job summary

Actalent is seeking hands-on Engine Development personnel to perform calibration development, mechanical testing, and component fabrication for engine testing. The role includes dyno testing, tuning using HP Tuners, and collaboration with engineers to optimize performance.

Based in Pontiac, MI, this contract position involves working in a lab setting with emissions equipment and test stands, with responsibilities spanning from tuning fuel tables to TIG welding and fabrication for test engines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Engine Development is calibration development, mechanical experiments, fabrication and manual test points to run getting the engine to 60% calibrated and then send it to Engine Validation to test and ultimate take it to a failure state.

Mechanical swapping of engine components working hand in hand with engineers to test different combinations of engine for optimum performance.

Will work in laboratory setting using AVL/PUMA and emissions equipment.

Will work on engine tuning and calibration using software such as HP Tuners or standalone systems.

Will run and operate manual testing on a dyno.

Will work with a Test Engineer to manipulate fuel tables, air-intake, spark and exhaust to find optimum performance on test engines.

Will do work at the component level including components like oil pumps, head or cam changes, fuel injectors, spark plugs - almost anything.

Assembly/Modification and/or Fabrication to existing Engines to prep for testing.

Fabricate components on engine and test stand/dynos for testing.

Instrumentations between the engine and they dyno.

TIG Weld parts and components.

This is a Contract position based out of PONTIAC, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
