Job summary

StandardAero in Texas is seeking an Engineer Mechanic - SkillBridge to support aviation maintenance and repair. You will learn hands-on from a team of experts and apply safe, proven practices in a clean, high‑reliability environment.

This role involves inspecting engine modules, performing induction/dismantle tasks, and completing accurate paperwork while adhering to aviation regulations. Training is on‑the‑job and advancement opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Engineer Mechanic - SkillBridge

As a SkillBridge Engine Mechanic, you'll repair and overhaul gas turbine engines.

What you'll do:
  • Inspect engine modules and engine components.
  • Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
  • Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy
  • Observe all applicable safety practices and aviation regulations
Position Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred Characteristics
  • FAA Power plant certification considered an asset.
Mechanic I
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of engines/components.
  • Previous experience with routine induction/dismantle of engines/components.
  • Minimal experience required.
Mechanic II
  • Comprehensive understanding of inspection of complex parts, ability to provide guidance as they arise.
  • Read and understand technical manuals.
  • Minimum of 2 years job related training/experience.
Mechanic III
  • Proficient in induction and dismantle of engines/components.
  • Advanced understanding of manuals and technical data.
  • Thorough knowledge, can easily find interpret instructions and act as a resource to other mechanics.
  • Signs off other mechanics in skills once proficient.
  • Preferred Apprenticeship and or/formal training in area(s) of specialty.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years aviation maintenance experience
