Description du poste

Engine Integration Tech Lead

We are a diverse group of problem solvers who are currently seeking a technical leader to join us in lowering the cost of access to space. This position will help advance Blue Origin’s historic vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. As an Engine Integration Tech Lead, you will join other passionate and accomplished experts to technically mature the BE-7 Lunar Lander Engine to meet multiple customer requirements and mission parameters.

Engine Integration’s scope encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial requirements to final delivery. Our overarching goal is facilitating design evolution and production at rate. Your team will provide new or revised design releases for a variety of primary/secondary structures, insulation, and pressurized cryogenic fluid systems as well as engine configuration. Critical skills will include taking learnings from engine assembly and test and execute changes to improve overall engine manufacturability and operation. In this role you will lead our team of propulsion engineers to provide technical solutions for rocket engine integration and design while maintaining a release schedule that meets BE-7 program milestones and while owning technical risk. Here you will exercise your technical judgement to drive solutions for hardware development, including producibility, while balancing mass and cost. You will also hone your leadership skills by mentoring, training, and collaborating with peers on various assignments including engine variant design and component performance troubleshooting.

Successful candidates will possess an extreme attention to detail, the ability to balance several technical challenges, a demonstrated mastery of engineering releases, configuration management, GD&T, and strong fundamentals of mechanical engineering design using advanced materials and manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone who supports our commitment to innovation, safety, and inclusion to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Qualifications
  • 10+ years proven experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle component/assembly design, manufacturing, and test.
  • Strong mechanical design skills, including structural sizing/analysis/calculations.
  • Advanced skills in CAD and large assembly model management and configuration (Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM preferred).
  • Mastery of GD&T implementation and stack up analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, treatments and manufacturing.
  • B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management and how it pertains to supporting both development and production environments.
Desired
  • Experience with design, production, and assembly in disciplines such as rocket engines, jet propulsion, aircraft, spacecraft, oil & gas, automotive, naval, nuclear, or heavy equipment.
  • Continuous improvement process experience (DMAIC, PDSA, etc.)
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility.
  • Experience with production quality management systems.
  • Experience transitioning products from development to production.
  • Material Review Board experiences for approving non-conforming hardware 2+ years in project or program management.
