Job summary

Anthony Independent School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher and to follow the lesson plans provided by the regular teacher. Daily rate pay varies by credentials: non-degreed with 24+ credits is $110, degreed non-certified is $135, and certified/retired teachers (Texas) earn

Qualifications

• 24 hours or more college credit
• High School Diploma or GED
• Speak, read, and write English
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in English with district employees, parents and students

Responsibilities

• Reports to campus secretary and/or administrator upon arrival to building.
• Reviews lesson plans and schedules with campus administrator.
• Maintains established routines and procedures in assigned classroom.
• Teaches lessons prepared by teacher following lesson plan book.
• Consults with campus administrator before initiating procedures not specified in the lesson plan book.
• Assumes responsibility for student discipline during school day.
• Performs any extra duties normally assigned to the regular teacher.
• Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the Anthony ISD safety program.
• Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by school administration.
• Demonstrates the ability to attend work when called on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
