Job summary

Power Wellness is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to join Mercy HealthPlex Anderson. This role involves teaching group classes, ensuring safety, and providing a fun, engaging experience for members and guests.

Candidates should hold a group exercise instructor certification (NCCA preferred), CPR/AED, and have experience teaching a variety of styles. The position supports full-time and part-time schedules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Group exercise instructor certification required; NCCA preferred.
• NCCA Personal Trainer cert accepted for strength/conditioning classes.
• Certification for specialty group exercise class instruction required.
• Minimum 2 years of group class instruction experience preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach Group Exercise classes as scheduled with modifications for fitness levels.
• Provide safe, effective exercise approaches and understand contraindicated exercises.
• Maintain required certifications and continuing education.
• Arrive early for setup; start and end on time; clean up after class.
• Report equipment needs or repairs to supervisor promptly.
• Record attendance after every class.
• Avoid missed classes and arrange substitutes in advance.
• Offer a fun and engaging participant experience.
• Work toward departmental and organizational goals.
• Be flexible with center hours and schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
