Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry required.
• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred but not required.
• Teaching experience in undergraduate organic chemistry lab.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate organic chemistry laboratory sections.
• Prepare students for lab activities through brief pre-lab instruction and demonstrations.
• Supervise students during experiments and ensure proper laboratory safety practices.
• Grade lab reports, quizzes, notebooks, and other assignments in a timely manner.
• Provide constructive feedback to students.
• Communicate regularly with the course instructor, lab coordinator, and department leadership.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and department expectations.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of laboratory materials as needed.
• Be familiar with common organic chemistry techniques such as reflux, distillation, extraction, recrystallization, chromatography, melting point analysis, spectroscopy, and reaction workup.
