The Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation & Pediatrics is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in creating, organizing and directing engaging programs for both geriatric and pediatric residents. This full-time role emphasizes compassionate service, teamwork and compliance with standards and policies.

Responsibilities include planning activities, interviewing residents and families, promoting social interaction, documenting participation, and assisting with transportation

Qualifications

• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families and staff.
• Ability to work harmoniously with other team members.
• Patience, sensitivity and a cheerful disposition.
• Good judgment and decision-making in activities planning.
• Willingness to adopt new activity programs as needed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and promoting activities based on residents' needs and interests.
• Interview residents and families to determine spiritual, social, recreational and emotional interests.
• Encourage social interaction through group activities.
• Provide sensory training programs for individuals and groups.
• Assist residents with leisure recreation and bedside activity programs.
• Document attendance and participation in recreation programs.
• Attend in-service training programs.
• Assist in transporting residents to activities and support resident council meetings.
• Contribute to a caring atmosphere by recognizing residents' rights and needs.
