Job summary

Majestic Care of Avon is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our care team. You will organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.

You will work to stimulate residents, promote community engagement, and support events and calendar planning. A high school diploma or equivalent and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Activity Assistant Certification preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and participate in person-specific activity programming.
• Include one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.
• Utilize the environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Foster a sense of community within the community environment.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize a variety of models to achieve individualized programming such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
• Assist with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develop and post monthly calendar as a planning resource for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents confined to their rooms.
• Promote volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
