Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant to bring compassion and smiles to residents at our Alamogordo location. The role supports the Activity Director to assess, select, organize, and implement activity and recreational services tailored to residents’ needs.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year in long-term care, with preferred experience in social/recreational programming in the past five years.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• One-year experience working in long term care.
• One years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to promote residents' opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to maintain functioning levels.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, and other recreational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists with organizing volunteers and supervising the volunteer program.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings and planning community activities.
• Prepares and posts a monthly calendar of activity programs.
