Job summary

Alamance-Burlington Schools is seeking a 6-8 Social Studies Teacher for Southern Middle in Graham, North Carolina. The role follows the district salary schedule plus supplement, with a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, and ten months of service.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid NC teaching license in social studies, bring knowledge of ABSS curriculum, and demonstrate strong classroom management and inclusive practices to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in applicable field for applicable level(s).
• Must hold a valid Teacher’s License issued by NC in applicable field and for level assigned.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Create a classroom environment that enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
• Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show evidence of preparation upon request.
