Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher to provide high-quality instruction at the primary location listed by CPS. The role involves planning lessons, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with CPS standards.

Qualified applicants will have completed student teaching and hold a ISBE teaching certificate (PEL or ELS). Strong communication and collaboration with parents and staff are essential to support student success

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework to obtain ISBE teaching certificate(s).
• Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of subject matter and classroom/behavior management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction and write lesson plans aligned to instructional objectives.
• Maintain attendance records, seating charts, and progress reports.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and behavior.
• Develop and implement classroom routines and disciplinary measures per CPS policy.
• Coordinate field trips and supervise after-school activities when needed.
