Job summary

Detroit Public Schools Community District seeks a Strong Beginnings Early Childhood Classroom Aide for 3-4 year-olds. Reports to the Principal and participates in a structured, school-based program with mandatory training and compliance requirements.

The role focuses on assisting teachers in delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a safe, organized classroom, and supporting students during meals, rest time, and transitions throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Must possess and provide evidence of a high school diploma or GED certification.
• Ability to exercise initiative, use good discretion and judgment, work as part of a team, and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum direction.
• Desire to work with 2.9-3-year-olds Strong Beginnings.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, visitors, and the community to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Greet students, staff, parents, visitors, and the community warmly and communicate respectfully.
• Greet and assist children with their belongings, arrival and dismissal, and ensure sign-in/out procedures.
