Job summary

Bride Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an activities assistant to create and run engaging programs that enhance residents’ quality of life. You will plan, organize, and implement group activities and assist with individualized activities to stimulate creativity, physical abilities, and cognitive skills.

• Assists with planning, organizing, and implementing group activities to motivate and improve residents' quality of life.
• Encourage and stimulate creative talents, physical capabilities, and cognitive skills of each resident to his/her highest potential.
• Support one-to-one individualized activities and sensory stimulation for residents not actively participating in group activities.
• Transports residents to areas where programs are conducted.
• Supports resident supervision on the nursing unit(s), including outdoor activities.
• Communicates residents' progress and/or concerns from activity participation.
• Provides feedback for resident assessments as requested by the TRD department.
• Assist with supply inventory, planning and purchasing for department/facility activities.
• Performs other duties and attends meetings as deemed necessary by Supervisor/Administrator or Director.
