Job summary

SGI is seeking an Engagement Product Owner to guide the Engagement Operations team in the AMD program. You will review systems engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and provide guidance to the EO software development team.

You will work with program management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each sprint, deliver technical briefings to leadership, and advise on risks and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, and Mathematics (ABET preferred).
• 10+ years of Government/DoD experience.
• Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Understand Engagement Operations concepts including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
• Provide oversight to an EO SW development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
• Work directly with the Agile software developers.

Overview

We are seeking a Engagement Product Owner to join our team. The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Acquisition Executive Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The PO will be responsible for the Prioritization and validation of the development software for the Engagement team. The position will include reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The product owner will work with Program management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects of the team for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.

Key Responsibilities

• The candidate must have a basic understanding of Engagement Operations (EO) concepts including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
• The candidate must have the ability to provide oversight to an EO SW development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
• The candidate must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers.

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree from an accredited college (ABET Preferred) in Engineering, Science, and Mathematics
• 10+ years of relevant Government/DoD experience.
• Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• An additional plus is knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS and familiarity with current EO implementations in one or more of the DoD services.
• Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.
