Job summary

Girls on the Run Worcester County is seeking an Engagement & Communications Manager to lead our communications, storytelling, and community engagement efforts. You'll work closely with the Executive Director to raise awareness, grow participation, and build partnerships across Worcester County, while managing digital and in-person outreach and fundraising support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, community engagement, nonprofit development, events, public relations, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong storytelling and content-creation skills.
• Experience with social media and digital communications.
• Experience with email marketing, website management, graphic design tools, or similar technology.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
• Commitment to inclusive and accessible communications and community engagement.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, approx. once per quarter.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual communications and engagement plan aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage day-to-day communications across social media, email, website, newsletters, and other channels.
• Create content highlighting participant experiences, program impact, volunteers, donors, and partners.
• Gather stories, testimonials, photos, and other content to demonstrate impact.
• Maintain consistent messaging and visual identity across communications.
• Coordinate website updates, email campaigns, newsletters, and materials.
• Support media outreach to increase awareness throughout Worcester County.
• Ensure communications reflect inclusion and accessibility.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, community organizations, volunteers, families, donors, and sponsors.
• Represent Girls on the Run Worcester County at events and meetings.
• Attend program activities to gather stories and content.
• Lead SoleMates program communications and fundraising support.
• Develop event communications and support fundraising campaigns.
• Track engagement metrics and use data to inform strategies.
