Job summary

HOK in San Francisco is seeking engineers to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for engineering analysis and design across projects. You will participate in collaborative problem solving, visit sites during construction for reviews, and ensure quality delivery within budget.

The role emphasizes LEED-oriented design and integrated team collaboration. Qualifications include a BS in engineering (MS preferred), LEED accreditation or Green Associate, and 1–3 years of project engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field.
  • LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
  • One year project engineering experience on building projects; three years preferred.
  • Experience with energy analysis/LEED projects is a plus.

Engineers will be working as part of a team responsible for all aspects of engineering analysis and design on projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for engineering analysis of projects under the supervision of a Project Engineer.
  • Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions.
  • Visit project sites during construction for reviews of quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of the projects to budget.
  • Seeks input from more senior staff on technical matters to improve the overall project.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
  • One year project engineering experience on building engineering projects in a particular discipline. Three years’ experience preferred.
  • Experience in working in integrated teams.
  • Experience in design and delivery of LEED Silver or higher projects.
  • Experience with architecturally significant buildings is a plus.
  • Experience with potential project types in commercial, corporate, institutional and civic, justice, aviation, and healthcare sectors is a plus.
  • Experience with analysis tools and energy modeling for electrical design.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000.
