Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Surgical Services unit at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This PRN Day shift role requires a 40‑minute call response and offers differential pay.

You will work in the Operating Room as Circulating Nurse, meeting patients in the OR and safeguarding their care from entry through PACU transfer. Ideal candidates hold an ASN, prefer a BSN, and have 2–3 years of Surgical Services experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing (ASN) required.
• 2-3 years Surgical Services experience.
• RN license required; BLS required; ACLS/ CNOR/ CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room, meeting patients in the OR and remaining with them for the duration of procedures.
• Coordinate patient check-in, assignment handling and intra-operative care documentation.
• Act as patient advocate, verify information, position patients, manage room and initiate counts as needed.

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Surgical Services unit. This is a PRN Day shift opportunity located at Baptist South. This role requires call with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay. As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. This Registered Nurse will check‑in and receive patient assignments. A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. This RN may work with a singular patient in a complex case or may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. This RN will work as a Circulating Nurse and will meet patients in the OR and remain with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be the patient’s primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra‑operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.
