Job summary

Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company seeks a seasoned AVP, Underwriting – Energy to lead complex energy underwriting and manage new and renewal business. The role emphasizes upstream and midstream risks, broker relationships, and portfolio performance within approved authority.

You will underwrite high-value Energy accounts, guide pricing and coverage structures, and mentor underwriters while collaborating with Claims, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and Operations to strengthen underwriting discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 7+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience, including meaningful direct underwriting experience within the U.S. Energy market.
• Deep expertise in upstream and midstream Energy risks, with broader Energy experience considered highly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage Energy accounts within authority, pricing, and risk appetite.
• Own book performance and monitor profitability, retention, and new business objectives.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline with brokers and drive disciplined risk selection and capacity deployment.
• Provide technical underwriting expertise and coach underwriters to improve portfolio results.
