Job Title: Energy Transactions Counsel

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Salary: $135,000 - $170,000 + Bonus

We seek an experienced Energy Transactions Counsel that will be instrumental in the development and financing of clean energy projects. Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the project development team on strategy, contracting, and project acquisition.
Serve as the primary liaison with the capital markets team and outside counsel to manage real estate deliverables for project finance due diligence and closings.
Draft, review, and negotiate leases, easements, purchase agreements, and other site control documents.
Conduct title reviews, analyze surveys, and oversee title curative work for project development and finance.
Support M&A transactions by managing real estate closing deliverables and conducting due diligence inquiries.
Provide real estate legal support for permitting, interconnection, and offtake opportunities during project development.
Perform detailed due diligence on real estate-based information, including title documents and UCC searches.
Resolve process roadblocks and document procedures to facilitate project acquisition.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to minimize legal risks while driving projects to completion.
Manage and oversee multiple contracts throughout the project development lifecycle.

Must-Have Skills:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and licensed to practice law in at least one state.
4+ years of legal experience in commercial real estate, with renewable energy industry expertise.
Project Finance Experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

In-house renewable energy experience.
Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and manage legal and business risks.
Experience with title curative processes and UCC searches.
Knowledge of permitting and interconnection processes in renewable energy projects.
