Job summary

National Renewable Energy Laboratory invites applications for a Graduate (Year-Round) Intern in Industrial and Fuel Supply Optimization Modeling/Analysis in Golden, CO. The role supports data management, script editing, and workflow coordination within the FINITO model, focusing on energy and industrial sectors.

You will work with senior researchers to develop data architectures, run scenarios, and visualize results using Tableau, contributing to reports, articles, and policy briefs.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 (cumulative).
• Undergraduate: full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution; Post Undergraduate: bachelor’s degree within past 12 months; Graduate: full-time master’s student; Post Graduate: master’s degree within past 12 months; PhD track considered.
• Applicants must upload official or unofficial transcripts.
• Eligible for internship up to one year.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data management and coding for FINITO model.
• Edit processing scripts and coordinate data workflow.
• Visualize data and prepare presentations for workshops and conferences.
• Draft technical reports and journal articles; prepare policy-focused outputs.
• Collaborate with senior researchers on research design and reporting.
