Alliance of Professionals & Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Energy Engineering Manager to lead the design, construction, and maintenance of our cooperative's electrical distribution and transmission systems in Hillsboro, NC.

This onsite role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will supervise Engineering, System Design, Mapping, Quality Assurance and Dispatch, while managing budgets, schedules, and compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electric utility or power industry.
• 8+ years in system design, planning, and project management.
• 3+ years in leadership/supervisory role.
• P.E. license through North Carolina within 1 year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Strong knowledge of system design, planning, and project management.
• Knowledge of RUS, NESC, NES and related standards and codes.
• Experience with GIS, SCADA, OMS.
• Ability to lead and manage teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-range plans, load forecasts, and construction work plans.
• Design new facilities and upgrades per NESC/NEC.
• Manage projects from substations to transmission lines within budget.
• Lead and mentor engineering and technical staff.
• Provide technical oversight for electrical projects.
• Oversee system modeling and protection coordination.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and cooperative standards including RUS.
• Develop and manage the engineering budget.
• Develop specifications and contracts via competitive bidding.
• Coordinate with Operations, regulators, and other utilities.
• Act as primary contact for member inquiries on power quality.
