Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Energy Lead to guide hyperscale data center projects from site selection through energization. You will own energy strategies, coordinate with Development, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Operations, and executive leadership, and drive milestones with energy providers.

The role requires 8+ years in energy/power infrastructure, strong negotiation skills, and fluency in English with Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong experience leading complex energy projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of energy markets, regulation, and commercial structures.
• Ability to craft innovative energy infrastructure solutions within constraints.
• Experience working with utilities, regulators, and infrastructure developers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Energy Lead for hyperscale data center projects.
• Develop, own, and maintain energy strategies from site selection through energization.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Identify risks and provide mitigation strategies for key decisions.
• Manage relationships with electric and natural gas utilities, regulators, and consultants.
• Lead engagement strategies, negotiations, and issue resolution with energy providers.
• Drive stakeholders to meet energization milestones and schedules.
• Oversee consultants and vendor activities supporting energy projects.
• Evaluate and implement electric, gas, microgrid, and alternative energy solutions.
• Own interconnection and utility service strategies, studies, and energization requirements.
• Ensure energy infrastructure aligns with project needs and business goals.
• Account for infrastructure energy budgets, schedules, and KPIs across the portfolio.
• Identify and manage technical, commercial, and power-delivery risks.
