Job summary

magniX invites a Systems Engineer to contribute to the design, integration, and qualification of our Energy Storage System (ESS). This role emphasizes BMS and charging controls design, simulation, and DO-178/DO-254/DO-160 as well as FAA compliance support.

You will work with teams, suppliers, and customers to manage requirements, validation, and verification across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or related field.
• 3+ years of systems, controls, or BMS engineering in aerospace or safety-critical industries.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, verification, and validation.
• Experience with Python for automation, analysis, or modeling.
• Hands-on experience developing BMS or charging control features and algorithms.
• Working knowledge of Li-ion battery fundamentals, chemistries, and degradation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and qualify the Energy Storage System (ESS).
• Lead verification activities and prepare test documents and reports.
• Coordinate requirements, validation, and verification with teams, customers and suppliers.
• Support compliance testing per DO-178/DO-254/DO-160 and FAA standards.
• Manage requirements changes and resolve conflicts between requirements.
• Design and validate BMS controls including sequencing and fault detection.
• Simulate charging strategies across the ESS operating envelope.
• Build and maintain system simulation models for modes and states.
• Analyze ESS data to identify anomalies and root causes.
• Contribute to thermal management requirements for charging systems.
