Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Energy Storage (Summer 2027) to support development, testing, validation, and documentation of lithium-ion battery energy storage products used in critical power applications. You will work alongside engineers across disciplines and gain hands-on experience with battery systems, BMS, test equipment, and NPD processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum sophomore standing preferred.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical testing and validation of battery energy storage systems and related electronics.
• Create and execute test plans, collect data, and analyze results.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawings.
• Troubleshoot electrical, communication, and integration issues during development and testing.
• Support documentation, specifications, procedures, and test reports.
• Evaluate components, sensors, cables, connectors and BMS hardware.
• Participate in prototype assembly and lab testing activities.
• Support sustaining engineering and design-improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality and product management.
• Assist with compliance and certification activities (UL, CSA, IEC, etc.).
• Maintain safe lab practices and follow safety procedures.
