Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Apprentice I to assist with utility-scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance while training under a journey-level electrician. You will learn instrumentation and electrical theory on the job, gain hands-on experience with wiring, and contribute to a broad range of energy projects.

Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment; measuring, cutting, bending wire and conduit; handling materials and tools on a busy site; and

• Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools.
• Lifting/carrying/pulling up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed.
• Must be able to work in heat and varying weather conditions.

SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools


• Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)


• Lift, position, and fasten objects


• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades


• Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment


• Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and procedures


• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


• Pull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED


• Some construction and/or electrical experience


• Current driver's license


• Limited ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, blueprints, etc.


• Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools


• Willingness to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions


• Ability to work safely with electrical equipment


• Knowledge of electrical systems


• Ability to handle materials weighing up to 200 lbs

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
