Job description

Doroni is building a two-seat eVTOL on the LSA/MOSAIC certification path, and we are hiring the engineer who will own its entire energy storage and distribution system, end to end.

This is an individual-contributor role on a lean discipline-lead team. You define the architecture, execute the core work, and direct subcontractors where needed, working closely with Propulsion, Structures, and Systems Engineering at every aircraft-level interface.

What you will own

• Develop the energy storage and high-voltage distribution architecture, from charging inlet through the PDU output bus.
• Size the battery system against mission energy and peak-power demand across all flight phases.
• Drive cell-chemistry selection and pack architecture through trade analysis.
• Own battery thermal management and define interfaces to the aircraft-level TMS.
• Lead technical compliance for DO-311A and DO-254, and support the Systems and Certification Lead on formal documentation.
• Identify and manage the subcontractors and vendors needed to execute development.
• Specify the first test article and drive it to build readiness.
• Represent the discipline in aircraft-level design trades and influence vehicle configuration.

What you bring

• 15+ years in battery or energy‑storage system development, in aerospace or an equivalent high‑reliability, safety‑critical domain.
• A demonstrated lead role on at least one certified or flight‑tested vehicle program.
• Hands‑on depth in cell characterization, pack architecture, BMS design, and high‑voltage system safety.
• Working knowledge of DO-311A, and familiarity with DO-254.
• A track record of closing an energy and power budget at the aircraft level.
• Comfort operating as a solo technical lead, designing and delivering without a supporting team.

Preferred

• Broader power‑electronics or propulsion experience across the full aircraft HV power chain.
• Prior eVTOL or electric‑aircraft program experience.
• Familiarity with LSA/MOSAIC or Part 23 frameworks.
• Experience scoping and managing technical subcontracts.
