Job summary

Vulcan Materials seeks a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager to shape enterprise-wide energy strategies, including fuel, electricity, natural gas, and other utilities. You will lead the Energy Sourcing team, drive cost savings, and influence ESG initiatives while coordinating with regional teams across the enterprise.

The role demands 10+ years in energy markets, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and deep knowledge of electricity and natural gas markets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required.
10+ years of experience in the Energy sector, with knowledge of energy markets.
Experience with electricity and natural gas markets including market design and rate design.
Understanding of global and domestic energy markets to inform sourcing decisions.
Knowledge of renewables (solar/wind) and cost/benefit of self-generation.
Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Proven leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills across internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead Strategic Sourcing for energy categories across the enterprise in regulated and deregulated markets.
Direct renewable energy projects and negotiate terms within budget and schedule.
Develop and manage the Energy Sourcing team's performance and vision.
Create the Company’s long-term renewable energy roadmap and secure stakeholder buy-in.
Provide actionable financial and operational insights from analytics to enable cost savings.
Support future site development with energy expertise and guidance.
Deliver training on electricity markets, rates, and technical details to internal teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
