Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for its Lost Pines location. You will troubleshoot, repair, and remanufacture mechanical equipment, including air compressors, heat exchangers, gear reducers, valves, pumps, and fans, with opportunities to weld and fabricate components.

You will collaborate with electrical and controls teams, interpret schematics, and ensure accurate drawings while working under supportive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or repair of mechanical equipment.
  • A degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Execute installation, inspection, maintenance, and precision alignment of critical mechanical equipment, including air compressors, heat exchangers, gear reducers, valves, pumps and fans.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and fitting on piping and structural components, including specialist repairs to fiberglass piping systems.
  • Conduct excavation activities in alignment with OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Interpret blueprints , technical manuals, and schematics to execute precise repairs and maintain accurate, up-to-date system drawings.
  • Collaborate with electrical and controls teams on cross-functional tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Service friction and anti-friction bearings on heavy industrial equipment, such as turbine-generators, large boiler air fans, and high-capacity pumps.

Here’s The Role

Note: This position is at our Lost Pines location. Do you have a drive for troubleshooting and maintaining mechanics? If so, we are seeking to find a meticulous Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Lost Pines! In this position you will help keep our energy services funning smoothly. We are looking for a skilled mechanic who is confident in their core abilities but motivated to master advanced techniques. This is an opportunity to provide immediate impact through troubleshooting, precision machine shop repairs, welding, and full equipment remanufacturing. You will work under the moderate guidance of an encouraging leadership team and a chance to collaborate with senior colleagues!

How You’ll Contribute

How You’re Qualified

  • A degree(s) in mechanical or industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Driver's license
