CHS Inc. is offering an Energy Sales Intern position in Mitchell, SD for Summer 2027. You will shadow the Certified Energy Specialist, gain exposure to Cenex brand energy programs, and learn how CHS drives sales and customer engagement across the energy portfolio.

You will work closely with energy teams, attend sales calls, and participate in field activities to understand the full energy operation and customer solutions. This paid internship emphasizes practical skill-building and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an energy, agriculture, or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Shadow the Certified Energy Specialist (CES) to learn how energy sales are driven in a cooperative setting.
• Assist in increasing sales and profitability through sales, marketing, and consulting processes for Cenex products and services.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and prospects; attend sales calls and in-person meetings.
• Learn about CHS energy programs including the Cenex Brand; participate in field activities with the energy team.
• Accompany the energy service team on ride-alongs with the propane route driver to understand coordination with the CES team.
• Observe how the Energy Manager runs the energy operation to ensure safety, productivity and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
