Job summary

JPMorganChase in New York seeks an Executive Director to lead the Energy Quantitative Trading & Research team for the North American Power and Gas desks. This build role owns the modelling agenda for a fast-growing physical franchise, from research to production, and includes contributions to systematic energy research.

You will shape pricing structures, capture generation/storage/transport optionality, and build desk-facing tools.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of hands-on quant experience supporting physical Power and/or Natural Gas trading.
Experience building valuation models for physical assets and optionality.
Strong programming skills with production deployment and trader interaction.

Responsibilities

Own pricing and risk models for physical and financial Power and Gas end to end, from research through production.
Model drivers of physical value: generation, load, transport, storage, and shape.
Partner with trading and sales to create new commercial opportunities in physical markets.
Build the tools the front office runs on: pricing workflows, calibration utilities, back testing.
Contribute to the team’s systematic trading research, including signal development and back testing.
Lead projects and priorities, supporting front office and control functions on models and tools.
