Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York seeks a Vice President for Energy Quantitative Research to support the global energy trading business with a focus on North American gas and global oil.

You will work closely with the front office as part of a front office–aligned quant team, applying advanced analytics to drive growth, build models end-to-end, and push production implementations with a commercial mindset. The role offers exposure to Trading, Structuring, Sales and Technology, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of mathematical/numerical techniques used in valuation models (stochastic calculus, probability, optimization, Monte Carlo).
• Strong programming skills with production-quality models; Python and C++ preferred.
• Commercially focused with excellent communication; translates desk needs into deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing and risk models for vanilla and structured products, including model development, production, testing, governance and documentation.
• Partner with Trading and Sales to identify and pursue new commercial opportunities.
• Develop analytical tools for front office use (pricing, model calibration, backtesting, etc.).
• Provide quantitative analysis and support to front office and control functions.
• Lead projects, manage priorities, and deliver results in cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance on the use of models and tools.
