Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to join the Energy & Power team across multiple US offices. You will work under a senior engineer, applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects, including thermal-fluid design and district energy systems.

Interns will assist with CAD/BIM deliverables, piping/duct sizing, and engineering analyses. The program emphasizes learning, site visits, and collaboration within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program for Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ideally, lower-classman coursework such as thermodynamics, mechanics of materials, and engineering computation.
• Interest in learning and gaining experience with engineering tools such as hydraulic modeling, heat transfer, CAD drafting, stress modeling, or energy modelling software.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design as part of a team on Energy & Power projects.
• Assist with piping, ducting, and equipment sizing tasks.
• Support development of deliverables like CAD/BIM drawings and process diagrams.
