Job summary

The Bartech Group, Inc. is seeking a Planner to support work management across Union, Kentucky-area sites. The role focuses on developing weekly schedules, creating job plans, and ensuring timely PM/CM activities while coordinating resources and controlling costs.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of power plant operations, work management systems (Maximo), and strong communication skills to support site teams, contractors, and project stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.

  • Monitor progress, prepare reports, and capture lessons learned.
  • Support budgeting and accrual processes in alignment with Finance.

Role summary / purposeA Planner supports the work management process by performing required activities such as developing schedules and plans that facilitate barrier-free work execution, supporting daily/weekly operation/maintenance activities, providing necessary resources for sites, and facilitating process improvements to make work plans safer, more productive, and cost competitive. The Planner I performs core work management activities including developing weekly schedules, creating job plans, determining proper accounting for work orders, creating purchase requests, managing repair processes, and completing single/sole source justification requests as needed.Key responsibilitiesEnsure Purchase Orders are issued for all field work in progress or plannedEnsure all Preventative Maintenance (PM) work is scheduled and completed on timeFollow up and backlog management of all PMs and Corrective Maintenance (CM) work by priority and siteResource alignment and coordination of work tasks to minimize contractor mobilization charges and re-workProcess monthly accruals in accordance with Finance requirementsDevelop and distribute weekly schedules for site activitiesSupport Project Teams in developing and completing PMs/CMs assigned to those teamsLead Bid events for minor or large Purchase Orders and service agreements as applicableDemonstrate basic understanding of system accounting and reporting to support Rate Case inquiries and data requestsLead and provide oversight to contractors performing work on assets at Midwest locations as directedCoordinate and communicate during preparation and execution phases of workMonitor and track progress of activities, prepare reports, and ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporatedDirect, coordinate, and review activities of internal staff or contractors to ensure safe, accurate, and timely completion of tasksEnsure work priorities are established and adhered to for Maintenance functions and activitiesProvide Work Management, Sourcing, and business reporting in compliance with proceduresProvide leadership and coordination for work activities performed by supplemental and variable contract resourcesDevelop plans that facilitate work execution and are barrier-freeCommunicate regularly with Supervisors and Equipment Experts to ensure job plans are current and work is prioritized appropriatelyRequirements – education & experienceBasic knowledge of power plant operation and the Work Management processWorking knowledge of company computer systems and programs utilized in the Work Management processBasic scheduling tool knowledgeDemonstrated effective time management skillsDemonstrated effective problem-solving skillsAbility to perform independently with minimal directionInterpersonal skills to effectively work with all business unit and company groupsBasic ability to lead effective and efficient meetingsGood written and oral communication skillsRequired skillsTime managementProblem solvingIndependent work capabilityInterpersonal communicationMeeting facilitationWritten and oral communicationNice-to-have / preferred skillsExperience and demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)Experience with work management systems (Maximo)Experience with Power BIWritten and oral communication skills, including ability to present information and facilitate meetingsWorking knowledge of operating fundamentals and principles of generating station systems, equipment, and processesDemonstrated ability to work independently in a leadership capacityDemonstrated ability to understand, interpret, communicate, and analyze financial dataAt least 5 years of plant operations, maintenance, and/or work management experienceFinancial and accounting knowledge and skills including ability to analyze data2 years of experience in contract management2 years of experience in project managementProficiency in Maximo or computer-based Maintenance Management SystemsAbility to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain information, and make sound decisionsEmployment details – type, location, hoursLocation: Union, Kentucky area with primary office location in the Cincinnati areaSchedule: Hybrid – 3 days per week in officeWork Environment: 80% of work in field office environment with 20% travel to sites anticipated. Work is performed in outdoor civil construction settings and in/near power plants operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and humidity.Physical Requirements: May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access; walk, stoop, bend, or squat. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use, and reach with hands, arms, and fingers. Lifting up to 10 lbs on average (copier paper and office supplies). Standard access ladder climbing rarely to 10 feet maximum height.Personal Protective Equipment: Hard hat, safety glasses, and safety work boots (steel toe or equivalent) required.Vehicle Requirements: Personal vehicle required for commuting.
