Job summary

Orrick is seeking a highly qualified 3L to join its Energy & Infrastructure M&A practice as a First-Year Associate with a fall 2026 start date. The role offers involvement in high‑level transactions and hands-on training within a leading global law firm.

You will work across Orrick's Energy & Infrastructure M&A team, collaborating with partners and associates to gain substantive experience, develop skills, and participate in client work.

Qualifications

• Entrepreneurial, determined and engaged students with strong academic credentials and superior communication skills.
• Applicants must be current 3Ls (class of 2026) pursuing a JD.
• A GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred.
• Resume, transcript, and cover letter articulating interest in the position and the firm.
• Virtual interviews will take place on a rolling basis.

Responsibilities

• You will be a full member of Orrick's First-Year Associate class, with a start date in fall 2026.
• You will work with Orrick's Energy & Infrastructure M&A practice.
• This position is based out of the Austin, Houston, San Francisco, New York, or Washington D.C. offices.
• You will be compensated as a First-Year Associate.
• Partner sponsors will oversee your assignments, networking opportunities, and career coaching.
