CLEAResult seeks an experienced engineer to lead the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs. The role involves engineering calculations, building simulations, and providing technical design assistance.
Qualified candidates should have 5–10+ years of relevant experience, a BS in Engineering (PE preferred), and reside in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Compensation ranges from $74,000 to $111,000.
Support the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by providing engineering calculations, building energy simulations, measurement & verification, and utility program technical design and assistance.
Lead design and development of technical strategies, conduct analysis to inform and recommend energy savings, and develop plans and provide reporting contributing to client programs.
Write and inform technical documents, publications, conduct quality review of content.
Provide general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously inform customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments.
Support business development efforts and proactively seek new project opportunities.
Calculate energy savings for projects using standard engineering principles (physics, mechanics, fan laws, thermodynamics, algebra, statistics).
Lead important and complex technical work in programs with minimal supervision.
Identify, lead, and qualify custom/M&V projects beyond deemed savings.
Oversee development of calculators and measurement configurations within central database.
Perform ASHRAE Level II audits unassisted at large commercial and industrial facilities; author IPMVP compliant plans and reports.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to multiple large‑scale programs.
Provide technical guidance and training to program teams related to custom/M&V projects.
Be subject matter expert in at least two significant technical areas.
Author work papers for new energy efficiency measures under technical oversight.
Oversee technical feedback related to filings, utility commission documents, and program evaluations; provide formal recommendations to program staff.
Develop project scopes with oversight from engineering management.
Work with clients and evaluators on project‑specific issues.
5–10+ years experience; BS Engineering degree; PE preferred.
Must be located in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
Position is safety‑sensitive and may include field work, warehouse work, or driving. Must pass a post‑offer pre‑employment drug test, consent to a motor vehicle report, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record.
Compensation: target $85,000–$95,000; range $74,000–$111,000.
