Mid-Level Energy Efficiency Engineer - Remote | Colorado, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania
About the Role

We're a rapidly growing consulting firm specializing in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and distributed generation. We partner with utilities, state agencies, nonprofits, and Fortune 500 companies to deliver high-impact solutions that shape energy consumption and drive sustainability.

What You'll Do
  • Lead technical evaluations and support energy efficiency programs for commercial and industrial clients
  • Conduct onsite and virtual inspections to verify installations, collect data, and deploy metering equipment
  • Perform energy and peak demand savings calculations using industry-standard tools and methodologies
  • Analyze energy performance for new construction and LEED-certified projects
  • Support QA/QC reviews, benefit-cost analyses, and program evaluations
  • Research emerging technologies, funding opportunities, and best practices in energy efficiency
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinate regularly with internal engineering staff, project managers, and external stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • 3–8 years of experience in energy efficiency consulting, construction, lighting, HVAC, or as a field technician
  • Experience with engineering analytics, cost analysis, and statistical/regression methods
  • Experience with energy modeling software (eQUEST, Trane TRACE, or similar)
  • Familiarity with industrial and manufacturing processes
  • Strong QA/QC background
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable in a remote work environment
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; ~25% domestic travel required
