Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) seeks a Derivatives Trader to manage energy derivatives across crude, products, gas, and LNG exposures. You’ll support physical traders, analyze markets, and coordinate with Risk and Compliance on derivatives activity.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in trading or related energy fields. Travel up to 5% and multiple locations (Houston, Findlay, San Antonio) are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of commercial trading or energy-related experience.
• Experience in product trading, commercial analytics, or scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute energy derivative instruments in multiple markets per hedging plans.
• Review market conditions and advise hedging strategies to maximize value.
• Prepare periodic market and supply/demand reports.
