Own the SQL, ETL, and dashboards behind a public utility's power supply analytics. Direct hire. Based in WA, MT, ID, OR, or UT.
Energy Data Analyst I: Build the Data Engine Behind a Utility's Power Supply
The Opportunity
What if your SQL queries and data pipelines kept the lights on? In this role, they help do exactly that. You'll be the go-to data and analytics resource for a utility's Power Resources team. You'll turn hourly-to-annual electric load and resource data into the insight that drives energy supply decisions.
This isn't a reporting seat where you only refresh someone else's dashboards. You'll design the databases, build the ETL workflows and around-the-clock pipelines, maintain the APIs that pull in large time-series datasets, and present the findings to the people who act on them.
You'll also get the stability of a public utility and one of the strongest benefits packages you'll find anywhere, so you can focus on doing great work.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most analyst roles sit far from the outcome. Here, your work feeds directly into counterparty settlements, reconciliations, and planning decisions, so data accuracy has real financial and operational impact. You'll own the full stack, from schema design and complex SQL to Python, ETL, BI, and presentation, rather than one narrow slice. The organization actively invests in growth through special projects, cross-functional initiatives, stretch assignments, training, and mentoring. It is also deliberately building analytics depth so no single person is a point of failure, which means collaboration and backup are built in.
