Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities is seeking a Full-Time Energy Controls Mechanic to work on the UHealth Medical Campus. This on-site position focuses on optimizing energy use, maintaining energy management systems, and performing preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting controls, reviewing blueprints, and scheduling pump operations while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience.
  • Valid license from Miami Dade County; Florida Driver’s License required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Troubleshoots systems and makes changes in programming and calibration for energy management controls.
  • Diagnoses problems or failures in conditioning and refrigeration systems and identifies repair needs.
  • Reads and reviews blueprints and schematics.
  • Sets time schedules and heating/cooling settings for pump operations of energy management systems.
  • Maintains organized documentation to support activities and expenditure requests.
  • Ensures activities adhere to codes, policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Transports tools, equipment, supplies, and other resources to the job site.
