Job summary

Partners for Community Development, Inc. is seeking a motivated Energy Auditor to join our Weatherization team in Wisconsin. The role focuses on improving home energy efficiency through audits, inspections, and ensuring quality control in line with program guidelines.

You will work with homeowners, field staff, and partners to educate clients, justify work scopes, and help select homes for weatherization, with room for growth and certification.

Qualifications

  • Experience or education in construction, home inspection, energy efficiency, or related fields.
  • Willingness to learn energy auditing tools and software.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, insured vehicle, and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct energy audits in residential settings using diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Prepare detailed work orders, customer agreements, and project documentation.
  • Act as primary contact for customers; provide energy education and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with field staff to ensure quality workmanship and address discrepancies.
  • Perform final inspections and authorize correction of deficiencies as needed.
  • Follow Weatherization Manual and Field Guide guidelines.
  • Support team members during absences or as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in selecting homes for weatherization and collaborate with other housing programs.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and required certifications.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, staff, and supervisors.

Job description

Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Auditor to join our Weatherization team. This position plays a critical role in improving energy efficiency in homes across our service area by performing audits, inspections, and ensuring quality control in accordance with state and federal weatherization program guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in residential construction, home inspection, or related building trades. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct energy audits in residential settings using diagnostic equipment and software tools
  • Prepare detailed work orders, customer agreements, and project documentation
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers; provide energy education and manage expectations
  • Collaborate with field staff to ensure quality workmanship and address any discrepancies

Qualifications:
  • Experience or education in construction, home inspection, energy efficiency, or related fields
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to learn energy auditing tools, software, and modeling programs
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses and certifications in the field
  • Physically able to navigate homes (attics, crawlspaces, ladders, etc.) and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license, insured vehicle, and clean driving record
  • Ability to lead and train team members when needed
